The following suspensions are suitable to hang up your map or print behind acrylic glass:
· Suspension Plates
· Floating Suspension
· Aluminium Suspension System
· Sign Standoff Screws
The 3-10 mm thick acrylic glass plates have the following weight:
29.7 x 42 cm (A3) | 0.5 kg |
42 x 59.4 cm (A2) | 1.3 kg |
59.4 x 84.1 cm (A1) | 3.2 kg |
100 x 70 cm (B1) | 5.3 kg |
140 x 100 cm (B0) | 13.9 kg |
200 x 140 cm (B0) | 34.6 kg |
Suspension Plates are suitable for:
· acrylic glass prints up to A1 (84.1 x 59.4 cm)
For smaller formats such as A3 und A2 a single suspension plate is sufficient to hang up your print.
Suspension plates are a very easy option to hang up your print. The plates are glued to the back of your print and can be hung onto nails or screws in the wall afterwards. Suspension plates are only suitable for the use inside.
Simply remove the protective foil from the suspension plate. Then stick the plates to the back of your print. It is recommended to remove any dust and particles from the print beforehand. You should press the suspension plates for ca. 10 seconds against the print. After that leave everything to rest for about 30 minutes. Last you can hang your map or print onto nails or screws in the wall.
Suspension plates are suitable for all materials. You only need to consider the weight of your print and the loading capacity of the suspension plates, you are using. You can find a table of the weight of the different plates at the bottom of this site.
We can recommend the following alternative suspensions *:
Floating Suspension 12 kg suitable for:
· acrylic glass prints up to size 100 x 70 cm
This is a magnet-based system, creating a floating look with a 4-5 cm gap to the wall.
Simply glue one magnet onto your plate, the other one is screwed into the wall. Of course, you need to make sure to have the same spacing between the magnets on your plate and those in the wall.
The floating suspension is suitable for all materials.
The Aluminium Suspension System is suitable for:
· acrylic glass prints size A1 (84.1 x 59.4 cm) and larger
This invisible aluminium frame is very easy to use and creates a floating look with a 3 cm gap to the wall.
The frame is put onto the back of your plate with the included glue. Then it has to rest for 24 hours, before hanging it up. Use two nails or screws in the wall to hang up your print. You don't need any additional materials.
The aluminium suspension system can also be used for a rope suspension. One end of the rope is hooked under the rail of the plate. The other end is attached to the ceiling or wall.
This suspension can be used for all materials and is especially suitable for larger formats. The size of the aluminium frame should be about 10 cm smaller on all sides than that of the plate you want to hang up.
Example: Map size 100 x 70 cm - ideal frame size 80 x 50 cm.
