Hochfeiler (ital. Gran Pilastro) is the highest mountain of the Zillertal Alps and is located on the border between Austria and Italy. Its two sides are quite different. Standing on Schlegeisspeicher you see an icy and unwelcoming north face. But if you are coming from Pfitschtal in the South West you see the flanks of Hochpfeiler drawing smoothly down to the valley.
