Lake Braies

The Lago die Braies, or “Pragser Wildsee”, is located amidst the Braies Dolomites in South-Tyrol and is also known as the Pearl of Dolomite Lakes. It is the largest lake of the Dolomites and a popular tourist destination, as well as the site of numerous myths and legends in the area. Beneath the southern end of the lake, where the imposing Seekofel towers over the water, according to one tale the gateway to the underworld can be found.
