Parseierspitze is the only three-thousand-meter peak in the Northern limestone Alps and the highest mountain in the Lechtal Alps. It rises as a jagged rock tower above the Inn valley. The name of the mountain and the Parseier valley probably goes back to the romanic word "presür", which was used to describe the gate of an alpine pasture.
