Sassongher is towering about 1000 meters over the southern Val Badia and the town of Corvara. The prominent mountain is part of the Puez-Geisler Nature Park and is situated in its south east. Reaching the top of Sassongher is a task for experienced climbers. The reward for the efforts is a breathtaking panorama from the mountain top. The Sassongher is famous for offering great views of other Dolomite peaks, such as the Fanes and Sella Group as well as the Marmolada.
