With 2,076m the Schneeberg is the highest mountain of Lower Austria and the Alps' easternmost mountain with a height over 2,000m. Apart from the Großglockner the Schneeberg is Austria's most dominant mountain. On some days you can see Vienna from the summit. For the residents of the capital the mountain is a popular close-by recreational destination.
