Vanil Noir is the highest mountain of the Fribourg Alps. It is located on the border between the two swiss cantons of fribourg and vaud, in the east of Montreux and lake Geneva. Since 1983 there has been a nature reserve at Vanil Noir, characterized by its multitude of rare plants and a big variety of animals. Amongst others there are 73 species of butterflies or the asp viper to be marveled at. Beautiful flowers like Betonica Hirsuta or Dracocephalum Ruyschiana grow there.
