Chalk Cliffs on Rügen

Chalk Cliffs on Rügen

The impressive chalk cliffs are the iconic landmark of Rügen. The fascinating colour contrast between lush green forest, chalk-white limestone walls and turquoise-blue sea water has been attracting large numbers of tourists and inspired several well-known poets and painters over the years. One of the most famous among them was the romantic Caspar David Friedrich, who immortalized the play of colours in his painting “Kreidefelsen auf Rügen”.

How are our prints made?

We have been drawing mountains since 2015.
Every print is illustrated by hand, and we write and check the texts ourselves.

In the illustrations, we pay attention to perspective and to landmarks that stand for a place, making it easy to recognise. For Alpine passes, we show tunnels or sights along the route, such as the Courchevel altiport at the Col de la Loze.

It is important to us that the texts convey the information and the atmosphere of a route accurately. We use AI for preliminary research, error checking and translation. People carry out the essential steps.
