Gorges du Verdon

Gorges du Verdon

During the glacial melt of the last ice age the Gorges du Verdon was dug through the thick limestone in today's département Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. The breath-taking gorge is also called the “Grand Canyon of Europe”, due to the iconic steep white rock cliffs that line the course of the Verdon river and which can rise up to heigts of 700 meters over the water.

How are our prints made?

We have been drawing mountains since 2015.
Every print is illustrated by hand, and we write and check the texts ourselves.

In the illustrations, we pay attention to perspective and to landmarks that stand for a place, making it easy to recognise. For Alpine passes, we show tunnels or sights along the route, such as the Courchevel altiport at the Col de la Loze.

It is important to us that the texts convey the information and the atmosphere of a route accurately. We use AI for preliminary research, error checking and translation. People carry out the essential steps.
