North-east of Merano, the Hirzer rises as the highest summit of the Sarntal Alps, more than 2000 metres above the Passeier valley. This tourist region is well developed, which also makes the ascent of the Hirzer comparatively easy. The Hirzer cable car carries its passengers to an altitude of 1980 metres, and from the top station the normal route leads past the Hirzer hut to the summit. Around the Hirzer run the Waalwege typical of South Tyrol – irrigation channel paths once built to water the apple orchards.

How are our prints made?

We have been drawing mountains since 2015.
Every print is illustrated by hand, and we write and check the texts ourselves.

In the illustrations, we pay attention to perspective and to landmarks that stand for a place, making it easy to recognise. For Alpine passes, we show tunnels or sights along the route, such as the Courchevel altiport at the Col de la Loze.

It is important to us that the texts convey the information and the atmosphere of a route accurately. We use AI for preliminary research, error checking and translation. People carry out the essential steps.
