Mount Fay is the highest mountain in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, on the border between Alberta and British Columbia. In 1902 it was named after Charles E. Fay, a pioneer mountaineer in the Canadian Rockies. Fay was supposed to have the honour of being the first to summit “his” mountain. But Christian Kaufmann and Gertrude Benham, one of the few women alpinists of the turn of the century, beat him to it and made the first recorded ascent of Mount Fay on 19th July 1904.

How are our prints made?

We have been drawing mountains since 2015.
Every print is illustrated by hand, and we write and check the texts ourselves.

In the illustrations, we pay attention to perspective and to landmarks that stand for a place, making it easy to recognise. For Alpine passes, we show tunnels or sights along the route, such as the Courchevel altiport at the Col de la Loze.

It is important to us that the texts convey the information and the atmosphere of a route accurately. We use AI for preliminary research, error checking and translation. People carry out the essential steps.
