Mount Sidley

Mount Sidley is the highest of five dormant volcanoes in the Executive Committee Range in Antarctica. As the highest volcano on the entire continent, it is at the same time the lowest of the Volcanic Seven Summits. The massive shield volcano was discovered during a flyover in 1934. More than 50 years were to pass before the first ascent in 1990. Because of its location, extremely inaccessible even by Antarctic standards, Mount Sidley is rarely climbed. Its height has not yet been determined exactly either; some sources give a summit height of 4181 metres.

How are our prints made?

We have been drawing mountains since 2015.
Every print is illustrated by hand, and we write and check the texts ourselves.

In the illustrations, we pay attention to perspective and to landmarks that stand for a place, making it easy to recognise. For Alpine passes, we show tunnels or sights along the route, such as the Courchevel altiport at the Col de la Loze.

It is important to us that the texts convey the information and the atmosphere of a route accurately. We use AI for preliminary research, error checking and translation. People carry out the essential steps.
