Rivers of the Alps

Rivers of the Alps

Some of Central Europe’s most important rivers have their source in the Alps. In this graphic we present the 15 longest rivers in the Alps. The Rhine is the longest Alpine river followed by the Sava, one of the many Danube tributaries in the Alps and the longest river in Slovenia. The third longest Alpine river is the Rhone, which while not the longest in France does have the largest volume of water of all French rivers.

How are our prints made?

We have been drawing mountains since 2015.
Every print is illustrated by hand, and we write and check the texts ourselves.

In the illustrations, we pay attention to perspective and to landmarks that stand for a place, making it easy to recognise. For Alpine passes, we show tunnels or sights along the route, such as the Courchevel altiport at the Col de la Loze.

It is important to us that the texts convey the information and the atmosphere of a route accurately. We use AI for preliminary research, error checking and translation. People carry out the essential steps.
