Untersberg

Untersberg

South-east of Bad Reichenhall lies the Untersberg, the northernmost massif of the Berchtesgaden Alps. The German-Austrian border runs across its extensive summit plateau. At 1972 metres, the Berchtesgadener Hochthron is its highest peak. The whole massif is riddled with karst caves: Germany's deepest and longest known cave is found here, as is the country's only show ice cave. The famous Untersberg marble has been quarried on the northern slopes of the massif since Roman times.

How are our prints made?

We have been drawing mountains since 2015.
Every print is illustrated by hand, and we write and check the texts ourselves.

In the illustrations, we pay attention to perspective and to landmarks that stand for a place, making it easy to recognise. For Alpine passes, we show tunnels or sights along the route, such as the Courchevel altiport at the Col de la Loze.

It is important to us that the texts convey the information and the atmosphere of a route accurately. We use AI for preliminary research, error checking and translation. People carry out the essential steps.
