Das Stuhleck ist der höchste Gipfel der Fischbacher Alpen und sehr gut erschlossen. Das führte bereits im späten 19. Jahrhundert zu einem ausgeprägten Tourismus zu jeder Jahreszeit. Im Februar 1892 stiegen die Pioniere Toni Schruf, Max Kleinoscheg und Walther Wenderich von Mürzzuschlag aus mit Ski auf den Gipfel – es war eine der ersten Skibesteigungen eines Alpenbergs.
