Mount Baker in northern Washington is a volcano in the Cascade Range. It his heavily glaciated and one of the snowiest mountains in the world. George Vancouver named the mountain after the Royal Navy officer Joseph Baker. Being relatively close to the coast, Mount Baker is visible from Victoria on Vancouver Island, from Vancouver and from Seattle. On the mountain's eastern flank is the Mount Baker Ski Area.
