Kazbek (also Kasbek or Qasbegi) is a five-thousand-metre peak in the centre of the Caucasus, on the border between Georgia and Russia. After Elbrus it is the second-highest volcano in the range, which is why it is counted among the Volcanic Seven Second Summits. The iconic volcanic cone also plays a part in Georgian mythology: legend has it that Amirani, a Georgian version of Prometheus, was once chained to the mountain for stealing fire from the gods and giving it to humankind. At around 2100 metres stands Gergeti Trinity Church, the only domed church in the Georgian high mountains.

How are our prints made?

We have been drawing mountains since 2015.
Every print is illustrated by hand, and we write and check the texts ourselves.

In the illustrations, we pay attention to perspective and to landmarks that stand for a place, making it easy to recognise. For Alpine passes, we show tunnels or sights along the route, such as the Courchevel altiport at the Col de la Loze.

It is important to us that the texts convey the information and the atmosphere of a route accurately. We use AI for preliminary research, error checking and translation. People carry out the essential steps.
