Lake Constance Pile Dwellings

Lake Constance Pile Dwellings

With its mild climate, vineyards and orchards, Lake Constance is one of Germany’s most beautiful holiday regions. Central Europe’s third-largest lake connects Germany, Austria and Switzerland – on clear days the view stretches all the way to the Alpine peaks. On the northern shore at Unteruhldingen, the pile dwellings stand on stilts in the water: reconstructed Stone and Bronze Age villages, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Above the fields behind them rises the baroque Birnau Abbey with its famous pilgrimage church.

How are our prints made?

We have been drawing mountains since 2015.
Every print is illustrated by hand, and we write and check the texts ourselves.

In the illustrations, we pay attention to perspective and to landmarks that stand for a place, making it easy to recognise. For Alpine passes, we show tunnels or sights along the route, such as the Courchevel altiport at the Col de la Loze.

It is important to us that the texts convey the information and the atmosphere of a route accurately. We use AI for preliminary research, error checking and translation. People carry out the essential steps.
