Mount Aspiring / Tititea

Mount Aspiring / Tititea

The pointed summit of Mount Aspiring rises in the Southern Alps on New Zealand’s South Island, west of Lake Wanaka. The Māori call the mountain Tititea, meaning ‘glittering peak’. Because of its shape it is also known as the ‘Matterhorn of the South’. Surrounded by glaciers in the national park of the same name, Mount Aspiring is now part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The mountain is also a popular destination for climbing and winter sports.

How are our prints made?

We have been drawing mountains since 2015.
Every print is illustrated by hand, and we write and check the texts ourselves.

In the illustrations, we pay attention to perspective and to landmarks that stand for a place, making it easy to recognise. For Alpine passes, we show tunnels or sights along the route, such as the Courchevel altiport at the Col de la Loze.

It is important to us that the texts convey the information and the atmosphere of a route accurately. We use AI for preliminary research, error checking and translation. People carry out the essential steps.
