Narodnaya

Narodnaya

Gora Narodnaya was named as the “People’s Mountain”. It is the highest peak in the Ural Mountains, on the border of Europe and Asia. It is also the highest summit in European Russia outside the Caucasus. Even though the mountain has an elevation of less than 2000 metres it is still an ultra-prominent summit, with more than 1500 metres in topographic prominence. Narodnaya was only discovered and confirmed to be the Ural’s highest peak in 1927. During that expedition the same explorers also became the first known people to reach the top of the mountain.

How are our prints made?

We have been drawing mountains since 2015.
Every print is illustrated by hand, and we write and check the texts ourselves.

In the illustrations, we pay attention to perspective and to landmarks that stand for a place, making it easy to recognise. For Alpine passes, we show tunnels or sights along the route, such as the Courchevel altiport at the Col de la Loze.

It is important to us that the texts convey the information and the atmosphere of a route accurately. We use AI for preliminary research, error checking and translation. People carry out the essential steps.
