Grossglockner High Alpine Road

The Grossglockner High Alpine Road between Salzburg and Carinthia is much more than a simple connecting road of the two Austrian states. It is tourist attraction and natural spectacle in itself. Following the road you pass through the Hohe Tauern National Park, in the middle of the high Alpine mountains, reaching an altitude of up to 2,500 meters. In the spring and summer months there are also good chances to spot some of the Alpine marmots which populate the area.
