With a height of 3476 meters the Olperer is the third highest mountain of the Zillertal Alps and the highest peak in the Tux Crest. When viewed from the east the summit appears as an almost perfect rock pyramid. The ascent of the Olperer via the normal route from the south east can be accomplished with some easy climbing stages. More challenging is the ascent from the Geraer hut over the Olperer glacier, following the Wildlahner ridge and the mountain's north ridge.
