Mont Ventoux is a 1909 m high mountain massif in the French Provence. This mountain is also called the "Giant of Provence" and is very important for cycling. Although the mountain is considerably less high than the most famous Alpine passes, it is comparable in terms of difficulty. This is not only due to the many metres in altitude, but often also to the heat of Provence and a merciless headwind on the last kilometres.
