Hochiss is the highest peak in the Brandenberg Alps. It is situated on the main ridge of the small Rofan Group, a subgroup of the Brandenberg Alps in Tyrol in the east of Achensee. The Name Hochiss comes from the dialectal term “Iss(e)“, which describes an alpine mountain pasture.
