Stuhleck is the highest peak in the Fischbach Alps and a logistically well developed mountain in Styria. This lead to a flourishing tourist industry in all of the seasons – already in the early 19. century. In February 1892 the pionieers Toni Schruf, Max Kleinoscheg and Walther Wenderich ascended the summit on skis, starting the tour in Mürzzuschlag – it was one of the first ascents of an alpine summit on skis.
