Schreckhorn is europe's most northern four-thousand meter mountain. The mighty jagged peak towers in the south of Grindelwald. It forms together with almost equally tall Lauteraarhorn an imposing double summit. It is often described as the alpine four-thousand meter mountain, that is most difficult to climb. The mountain is considered an insider tip for experienced mountaineers, because of its remote location there is no need to fear overcrowded routes or a mass of people.
