After Presanella Adamello is the second highest summit of the Adamello group on the border of Lombardy and Trentino. The west and north face of Adamello rise almost vertically while the mountain falls off more smoothly to the south east. Adamello is situated inside the regional park Parco regionale dell’Adamello which directly borders the protected area Parco naturale Adamello-Brenta in the east. Ibexes and chamois are among the animals which can be spotted in the area. More rarely are the sights of vultures and eagles, and even less so brown bears.
